A distribution list is an application of email client programs that allows a user to maintain a list of email addresses and send messages to all of them at once.

Before you begin :

  • A distribution list can have multiple owners, but the Outlook client will only display one owner, listed alphabetically.
  • If you cannot edit the membership in a list that you need to manage, contact Computer Services to request permission.  Authorization by the current owner of the distribution list may be required.
  • You cannot add external email addresses to a distribution list. Email Address must be listed in the Global Address Book.

Add or Remove Users :

  1. Open the Address Book.
  2. Search.
  3. Right-click the distribution list, select Properties.
  4. Select Modify Members.
  5. Add or Remove members to the group.

  6. Add contacts individually, or paste a list of email addresses into the "Add" field.
