A compromised account recently sent out email spam, resulting in us be "rate-limited" by Microsoft. This means email from RRU and possibly other companies might not be getting past the spam servers.
(live.ca / outlook.com / hotmail.com) Some people have reported that RRU password reset and academic account activation emails are going directly into SPAM folders or not arriving at all for staff/faculty and students that are using Microsoft email accounts like Live.ca, Outlook.com and Hotmail.com among others.
