Enable Call Forwarding

To enable call forwarding on SIPX, follow these simple instructions:

  • Using the Chrome browser only, go to http://telecom-1.royalroads.ca
  • Sign in with your telephone extension and voicemail password.  (NOT your RRU account and password)
  • Click on the Call Forwarding tab at the top.
  • Click on the Blue Add Number link on the top right.
  • Fill in the extension your wish to forward your number to and click the Apply button.
  • You are done, you can click Logout on the very top right to log oout of the telephone utility site.

The Message Waiting Indicator. “MWI”, will only show on your original phone, but you will still get Voice Mail via E-Mail if that has been setup.

To enable call forwarding directly on the phone, follow these simple instructions:

  • open the line you wish to forward
  • press *72 (star 7 2)
  • enter extension of the number you are forwarding TO
  • press OK

Disabling Call Forwarding

You must disable call forwarding the same way it was enabled. If you are unsure which way call forwarding was enabled, try one method, and if it does not work, then try the other

To disable call forwarding on SIPX, follow these simple instructions:

  • To disable call forwarding, go to http://telecom-1.royalroads.ca using the Chrome browser only
  • Sign in with your telephone extension and voicemail password.  (NOT your RRU account and password)
  • Click on the Call Forwarding tab at the top.
  • Then you have two options;
    1. You can select Disabled in the Enabled / Disabled drop down box (use this if you go to this desk a lot)
      OR
    2. You can select the blue Delete Link on the right.
  • Then click the Apply button
  • You are done, you can click Logout on the very top right to log out of the telephone utility site.

To disable call forwarding directly on the phone, follow these simple instructions:

  • open the line you wish to un-forward
  • press *73 (star 7 3)
